DPS Group focus on bolstering staff and client health, safety and wellbeing

We are pleased to share the news that our HSEQ and HR departments will now be one-point unified department known as Health, Safety and Wellbeing.

As a business with a philosophy of continual improvement, we have created an opportunity to redefine the way we approach crucial issues such as employee wellbeing.

Our proactive approach will help our colleagues recognise a clear point of contact for these areas and make the system more efficient in supporting their needs.

The responsibilities of the new department will include:

• Health and safety

• Occupational health

• Environmental

• Training and development

• Quality

• GDPR

• Human Resources

Victoria Coates, HSEQ manager, will lead our Health, Safety and Wellbeing team.

She discussed the role and benefits of the new department, saying: "The new Health, Safety and Wellbeing department is a natural evolution within the business. There is cross over throughout the HSEQ and HR departments, and we want to bring together that knowledge base for the benefit of our colleagues and clients."

"It will give our DPS Group colleagues one point of contact to support their Health, Safety and Wellbeing. We want the team to feel safe, supported, and valued within DPS Group, and this will help us to achieve that across all roles."

The benefits of the change are not only internal. Victoria adds: "It enhances our risk-management alongside training and development for DPS Group colleagues that are out on site. In turn, this will benefit our clients by making us more robust and efficient across the business.

"I genuinely believe that this will make the most of our skills-set, knowledge, and working environment for our colleagues. We're striving for a more engaged workforce by helping streamline health, safety, training, development, and support with one clear point of contact."
